Doty Horn is the Founding Director of ColorVoyant, a business-to-business visionary color marketing firm, founded in early 2011. With an expansive background in the interior and fashion industries, as well as product development for companies such as Armstrong, Formica, Cole of California, and FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising) in Los Angeles, Horn brings a unique perspective to color and design.
For seven years as Benjamin Moore®’s Director of Color and Design, Doty established market-focused color strategies and trend forecasting, using color as the driving principle. Among her numerous contributions, she created Benjamin Moore®’s Affinity® Color Collection and was the creator and visionary behind Benjamin Moore®’s internationally acclaimed and award-winning trend forecast, Color Pulse®.
With a background in the fashion industry and through extensive traveling for trend research at international trade shows, Doty has established a rich foundation for understanding color and design trends and how they translate into the market. Her insights also reflect a thorough understanding of the emotional impact and power that color has on the consumer market. Among her repertoire of projects are developing regional color strategies for clients in the UK, Germany, and Korea, as well as giving presentations to global corporations and designer events in Northern Europe and Scandinavia.
Doty was a member of The Mix/Global Color Research panel, a London-based forecast agency, and has been a keynote speaker at trade shows and associations such as:
